![]() ![]() Side effects that come from 100 million years in the past.ĭino Crisis is a survival horror game that is very similar in both control and gameplay to its sister series, Resident Evil. A special forces team is sent to the doctor's private island laboratory to extract him and his research, but they are totally unprepared for some of the side effects of his developments. Kirk's good health and nearly finished research came in. The government that funded his research wrote the whole affair off as a loss, which made it all the more upsetting when reports of Dr. It's a lovely looking game but that's a ridiculous number and it doesn't feel like what you're seeing in game warrants such terrible battery life.Three years ago a brilliant scientist disappeared while researching a new form of energy. In order to get even the numbers above, the GPU pegs itself at 99%, meaning the estimated battery life playing this game is less than two hours. Running with GE-Proton 8-6 allows the cutscenes to play but without sound.Īside from that problem, the other significant issue on Steam Deck is battery life. Honestly, not a big loss for now, you can at least watch the two cutscenes on YouTube and they're cute but not really required. I also realized the opening cutscene actually DOES play every time you load the game, but on Steam Deck it just fails silently you see a flash of white and then it kicks you straight to the main menu. Also, if you get pixelated textures when viewing tutorials, turn off half-rate shading inside the Steam performance menu (I have no idea why that seems to be on by default, I don't think I've ever seen a game that looks good that way). Dropping the settings to low should ensure a solid 40 at all time, at the cost of slightly worse image quality and no anti-aliasing (but I think you can turn that back on with minimal performance impact). Winter time in Salburg is the worst it seems to get, with framerates dropping to high 30s/low 40s. I'll give that a shot when I have a bit of time.ĮDIT: It seems like it does have an effect, but mostly just in the Atelier-framerates there are now consistent with or higher than the rest of the game, meaning I'd feel comfortable setting the refresh rate at 40 as the game should be able to hit that most of the time. I always forget that exists (I usually play Atelier games on Playstation but have been experimenting with buying first on PC again). Wandering around Salburg or the Nearby Forest, framerates were in the mid to high 40s, and battles were in the 50s, all on Standard settings. ![]() The weird thing is that the worst performance I saw in my brief test, by far, is inside the Atelier, which I would expect to be the fastest since it's a small enclosed space with no DOF effects or other characters. It can hold 30fps but asking it to do more is questionable unless you drop everything to low (and even then that raises the framerate to just 38fps), though to be honest I couldn't tell much of a difference anyways. Might be worth trying Proton GE, that usually solves cutscene issues (though someone on Steam notes the intro still has no sound?). Couldn't check cutscenes, turns out none of them play after you've launched the game for the first time, though I don't know if maybe they'll play if I sit on the main menu for a while. I don't think I've seen the issue you get with the screen jittering (do you mean physically, as in the image shakes, or do you mean unstable framerate?). In addition, there are now 3D models of characters and stages, so players can enjoy seeing cute mini characters while they move around the map and explore. Updated graphics!
